Reflection on Vignelli Canon: http://mbarnes1503.umwblogs.org/2017/06/02/reflect-on-the-vignelli-canon/

For this assignment, I reflected on how I felt concerning Vignelli’s view on what went into design and what was necessary for it to be succesful and effective.

For this design blitz, I had to take a number of pictures of different things I had seen throughout my week. So I included a number of signs, some drinking apparatuses and a picture of my roommates little brother, one in which he used for his school yearbook picture.

For this assignment, I photoshopped a picture of me as a sixth grader enjoying my day down at the river. It was fun, I thoroughly enjoy photoshop more than I thought I would.

I had to create a post card for someone about a destination, so I put mine for Great Falls Park in Great Falls, Virginia. It’s my sanctuary and I would love to share that experience with everyone.

I had to post a picture and a quote from my favorite movie and a scene I enjoyed. I did this one from Dazed and Confused of Slater when he talks about one of his strange conspiracy theories.

I very much enjoyed this weeks assignment, it was a nice blend of various works. I feel as though I was succesful and did a good job at competing this weeks tasks. They were all pretty fun, though at times a little difficult and somewhat frustrating. I struggled a bit with the GIF creating, as well as the assignments with the photoshop. I wasn’t too familiar with photoshop before this course, but had to teach myself how to use it. I certainly enjoyed the assignment bank assignments the most. They allow you to choose from so many options and they all can be fun and engaging and allow you to fully reach your thinking potential. I learned how to better use photoshop and how to create a GIF, which I plan to use in future endeavors, even outside of this course. I don’t know that I would do anything differently, but I would like to possibly explore more options concerning the assignments. The larger issues I may have are just maybe personal, in my certain biased assignments, where I would like to discuss sports and certain films rather than various others. I know as this course continues, I will enjoy it more and more and I couldn’t be more excited for it.
